Goodbye 2008 (our first New Years!)

2008 has been a good year for us. It is when we launched after all. While we didn't take time to come up with "best of 2008" lists like many other blogs, we still would like to acknowledge the passing of one year into the next.

Thanks to everyone who's read or followed along throughout the year. In 2009, we plan to be bigger and better with even more types of articles, more event postings, more interviews, and whatever else comes to mind or comes our way.

As a closing note, I'd just like to express that we went out with a bang yesterday.

With New Years resolutions of eating healthier fast approaching, we decided to go for a lunch at Ferdinando's Focacceria. The panelle (pictured above) is absolutely delicious and the calamari might just have been the best calamari i've had in my life. While I'm going to try my hardest to stick to the resolution, its going to be difficult with memories of that meal in mind!

For the evening portion of NYE we ended up staying home with some wine from Old Brooklyn, rather than going out on the town. We really hope that everyone that did go out had a good time, especially if they stayed local.

Yum! Ferdinando's is the best. I resolve to go there more often in 2009. I also resolve to go to Calexico all the time, if it ever opens. Any word on that?

I stayed home on New Year's Eve, and was rewarded by the fireworks display over the water, viewed from my bedroom window. Another reason to love this neighborhood!

All the best in 2009!

Sounds like a good resolution to me!

I just heard this week that Calexico's planned opening date is 2/1/09, although that is subject to change.

I really can't wait.

Happy New Year and thanks for reading!
