GO See Art in the Columbia Waterfront!

Today and tomorrow experience a Brooklyn-wide open studios weekend that will result in a crowd-curated exhibition at Brooklyn Museum. Many of the artists opening their studios this weekend work here in the Columbia Waterfront. Go to http://www.gobrooklynart.org to register as a voter. Visit at least five studios and you can vote for the artists you think should be seen at the Museum!

While you're out at the Columbia Waterfront Fall Festival, visit some local artists opening their studios in the neighborhood this weekend:

Red Hook, The Local Way

Red Hook photographer Tom Rupolo let me know about this new video travel guide series, The Local Way to which he contributed photos. The Red Hook video is a great introduction to neighborhood spots like The Good Fork, Fort Defiance, Brooklyn Collective and Alma. Interesting to us because at each spot they do a short interview with one of the owners.

Mother's Day at the Brooklyn Children's Museum

I Love My Mommy

May, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10.

02:30pm, for 5 and under.

Preschoolers—come spend a lovely afternoon reading stories and singing songs with a special woman in your life. Create a beautiful flower and decorate a card to express how much you love her!

The Brooklyn Children's Museum is an amazing place and I strongly recommend checking out their upcoming events.
