Reds Tapas space to become Pimentel Dry Cleaners

Realty Collective's blog has the scoop on what is to become of the Red's Tapas Bar space, and it turns out it will become a new dry cleaning business. While we loved Red's and would love to see another restaurant there, we're very happy to see any new business in general and eliminate vacant comercial spaces!

Welcome to the neighborhood Pimentel!

Read more about it at the Realty Collective blog here.

Isn't living next to or above a dry cleaner like the worst thing to ever happen to you? That is unless you like perchloroethylene. I lived so close to Reds that I could smell the garlic burning... Now I'll get oil based poisons through the open windows.

Yeah Dry Cleaners are just great....
The car service was bad enough in that spot... or the short lived deli... or the modeling office from way back that I never saw but there used to be a rockin ad for when 291 was a vacant lot filled with disused cars.

Sad. I don't think of Columbia Street denizens as the type to need dry cleaning. Sure it's great to have empty storefronts filled, but appropriately, please.
Let's see how long this business lasts.

Back in the day, about the only thing we didn't have on Columbia Street was a movie theater and a bowling alley. Then the city dug up half the street in the 70's, went bankrupt and left an open trench for seven years. Businesses closed and moved away. The street has never recovered.

It is going to be a satellite location. there won't be any drycleaning happening on location.

I actually met the owners of this business. They handed me a flyer which stated the Grand opening day for Monday,May 3rd. They also seemed like pretty nice gentleman, very family oriented. Let's give them a chance, and wish them the best!

Bad Dry cleaners. Owners raised price by 10 cents in one week & charged me without telling me. This would be fine IF they hadn't told me I could pick up my clothing monday morning and THEN when I came to pick it up it wasn't going to be ready 'til the afternoon. Then, they called me 15 minutes later to say that my clothes was actually there. So apparently they just lost my clothing. When I came to pick it up I was upset about the bad service. The 31 year old owner said that it wasn't his fault, that he didn't need to change the way he set expectations, said my dry cleaning was on him and proceeded to call me an asshole. Bad Business.

I miss these guys. Contrary to the comment above I remember their service to be great! and they received much praise throughout the neighborhood. They gave a new appealing look and feeling to the traditional dry cleaners, they also great job intergrating into the community showing their support to other local small businesses. Great group of guys.
